The highlight of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Jersey Snooker and Billiards Association (JSBA) is the World Billiards Jersey Open 2024. This weekend, the event will be held for the second time on the idyllic island and has been upgraded to a prize money class five event in accordance with the occasion.
Dave Causier from England, winner of this year’s Austrian Billiards Open, is listed to compete, as is the English world champion playing for Singapore, Peter Gilchrist. These exceptional billiards players, along with England’s Rob Hall, Peter Sheehan and Martin Goodwill, lead a well-contested field.
Representing Austria, national champion Martin Schmidt and billiards all-rounder Carl Walter Steiner are also competing. These two internationally experienced homegrown talents will play in Group A (Schmidt) and Group F (Steiner), each participating in four preliminary round matches to advance to the knockout stages.
