Following the latest league matches in the Region South, the three regional winners of the Austrian Billiards League’s 2024 autumn season have been confirmed, as well as the overall winner of the 2024 annual ranking.
Region Centre
Christian Pleschko (PSSC), who won the spring season, has also triumphed in the autumn ranking, securing a solid place in the Austrian National Championship in January 2025. Joining him from the Region Centre as a qualified player is his clubmate Josef Elias Wimmer. Both Pleschko and Wimmer will represent Austria at the upcoming 4 Nations Billiards International in Landywood, England.

Region East
In the Region East the multiple-time and current national champion Martin Schmidt (HSEBC) leads the ranking. Schmidt, ahead of his clubmates Thomas Janzso and Carl Walter Steiner, has secured both the Region East and the overall 2024 Austrian Billiards League titles. The fourth spot for the Austrian National Championship from the Region East goes to Patrick Stegmeier (ABC). Together, these four players will complete the national team for the upcoming competition against England, Ireland, and Northern Ireland at the end of the month.
Region South
In the Region South, Alfred Buchacher claimed victory in the autumn season, while Thomas Girstmair and Bernt Fast (all clubmates at OBV) took leading positions in spring. However, Girstmair’s second-place finish in autumn is enough to secure his spot as the best-ranked player of the year for the Region South.
