Austrian champion Florian Nüßle secured his qualification for the Q Tour Global Playoff of the WPBSA-organized series with a strong fifth-place finish. He will now compete in Antalya in March for one of three coveted two-year tour cards for the World Snooker Tour.
After victories over Aiden Gallagher (4-3, Last 64) and Jenson Kendrick (4-0, Last 32), the reigning 6-Reds European Champion faced another British opponent in the first round of the final day. However, for the only time this weekend, it was not an English player.
Against Welshman Riley Powell, Austria’s most successful international Snooker player secured a 4-2 victory to reach the quarterfinals, where he met another Englishman, Alex Clenshaw.

Unfortunately, Nüßle’s winning streak ended there, as he suffered a 1-4 defeat. Nevertheless, finishing 11th in the rankings was enough to secure his place in the Q Tour Final event of the 2024/25 season in Antalya, Turkey.

The seventh and final ranking tournament of the ongoing Q Tour season was won by former Main Tour professional Liam Highfield (ENG). Even before the event – held at the elegant Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall, near Birmingham – Chinese player Zhao Xintong had already secured the ranking title and a Main Tour ticket, having won four of the seven season events, including the December 2024 event at the Snooker and Billiards Academy in Vienna.
