For the second time in a row, record Austrian champion Florian Nüßle secured the title at the international Wels Snooker Open, the second largest international open pro-am event on home soil after the Vienna Snooker Open, which was organised by the PSSC Wels in cooperation with the Snooker Bulls Salzburg.

With a total of three century breaks and a series of other high breaks, Nüßle only lost two frames to Paul Schopf on his way to the final.

Schopf himself, who founded the Wels Snooker Open, ultimately took fourth place, rewarding himself not only with a great event, but also with a place among the best players in the tournament. In the match for third place, however, the player from Wels had to admit defeat to Jan Matějíček from the Czech Republic.

In the final, Florian Nüßle crowned his outstanding performance with a smooth victory over Hungary’s Nico Le Clercq and the highest break of the tournament as the highlight in the fifth frame – a clearance of 131 points.
